Damaged Goods

The aircraft had sustained damage due to exposure to water and severe environment. The composite fuselage showed signs of corrosion and was delaminated. The damage extended aft of the engine firewall to the transition section of the fuselage.

Saving the Plane

Saving the aircraft was a large challenge. After care fully reviewing the extent and type of damage we decided to remove the canopy and cut the aircraft to remove the whole of the forward fuselage. We then purchased and spliced back a new fuselage section. The new fuselage was purchased from the OEM vendor with proper paperwork. We designed the splice and put the aircraft back together.

Together Again

The result was a plane that worked as well as new. The customer was delighted that the plan could be salvaged, saving thousands of dollars over the cost of a replacement.
